River bank stabilization program for the Trinity River Authority along the west fork of the Trinity River. Work involved specialty design of two large slope stabilization/erosion control structures including the use of gabions, rock anchor tiebacks and large diameter drilled concrete piers to protect existing 60 inch diameter and proposed 90 inch diameter sanitary sewer main pipelines (TRA WF-11B) along the west and south embankments of the west fork of the Trinity River upstream of Roy Orr Boulevard, Arlington, Texas.
The two systems consist of a total of 1700 linear feet of gabion composite slope stabilization/erosion control structures, approximately 35 ft. in overall height, utilizing rock tieback anchors and drilled reinforced concrete piers as the main supporting structural mechanism.
Specific Role: Perform design of tiebacks, drilled reinforced concrete piers, concrete beams, gabions and other structural components, perform coordination with Geotechnical Engineer and TRA Engineers, and perform direct supervision of the preparation of Construction Drawings and Specifications for the gabion slope stabilization/erosion control structure. Perform construction administration services during the construction of the project, including oversight of testing program for the rock anchor tiebacks.
